General Notes

*Pages were re-worked for the actual first issue and although this event occurs, the pages are different. It is unknown if these two pages were ever published outside of this preview.

**Unlike the rest of the titles previewed, The Sandman is actually an original seven-page short story entitled “Fear of Falling” which didn’t appear in the ongoing series.

The cover features portions of eight separate promotional pieces (four on the front and four on the back). If taken as one image, from left to right, the images are:

  • Hellblazer #63 cover by Glenn Fabry
  • Mercy ad by Paul Johnson
  • Shade, the Changing Man #34 cover by Chris Bachalo (the cover to the issue after the one actually previewed)
  • Kid Eternity #1 cover by Sean Phillips (the image was used in the cover of Kid Eternity but partially obscured)
  • Sandman Mystery Theatre #1 cover by Gavin Wilson
  • Death: The High Cost of Living ad by Chris Bachalo, image is re-colored
  • Enigma ad by Duncan Fegredo
  • Similar to the third page of “Fear of Falling” by Kent Williams from inside the issue but the image differs slightly and is recolored
