The DC Universe grew a little bit darker with the landmark debut of the Teen Titans’ foe, Brother Blood, a crazed cult leader who would plague the young heroes throughout their careers. In addition to this morbid new member of the Teen Titans’ rogues gallery, this issue by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez had another dark secret: a 16 page preview comic featuring Marv Wolfman’s newest team, “Night Force.” Chronicling the enterprise of the enigmatic Baron Winters and featuring the art of Gene Colan, Night Force spun into an ongoing title of gothic mystery and horror the following month.
