Anthro #6

Continued from last issue, Anthro is on horseback searching for his love Embra, and her tribe. Anthro tries to follow their tracks, but a scream bucks Anthro from his horse. The horse bolts, and Anthro comes face-to-face with the Giant White Lion of the North. The lion pounces, but Anthro dodges his attack. As the second attack comes, the giant pale lion is dropped by a newcomer.
 
Anthro is saved by a large Asian man with a hammer and spear. The newcomer tries to communicate with Anthro, but all he says is Hoy Sen over and over. Hoy Sen, as Anthro refers to him, carves some lion meat and throws it at Anthro in friendship. The two applaud each others’ bravery, and Hoy Sen retreats into the jungle.
 
Continuing his search, Anthro finds a horse that belongs to the Horse Tribe. As Anthro investigates, he falls into a pit trap. Waiting for an attack, he finds himself staring at Embra and Chief Tugg. Overjoyed, Anthro tries to save some face as to why he ended up in their pit trap.
 
Anthro discovers that Tugg had been wounded by the great lion, and Anthro helps Embra and Tugg return to the Bear Tribe home. Anthro reveals that Embra has pledged herself to him with her gift, and Chief Tugg promises that, if Anthro can find a wife for Embra’s elder sister Ita, then the two can be married.
 
Anthro, Embra, and Tugg return to the Bear Tribe, and are welcomed. Chief Tugg meets with Anthro’s father Ne-Ahn and uncle Do-Ahn, the two chiefs of the Bear Tribe. Tugg, Ne-Ahn, Do-Ahn come up with a plan to marry off Ita, allowing Anthro and Embra to also marry, which will strengthen both the Horse and Bear Tribes. A contest is arranged, where the winner will not only receive the daughter of the chief of the Horse Tribe, but also two mares and a fine stallion.
 
Many warriors step up to the contest, and the winner is Grog, son of Org. A medicine man comes, and marries Grog and Ita, though even strong Grog has some trouble carrying Ita back to his cave. Now that Ita has been married off, Anthro and Embra can marry. The medicine man begins the next ceremony, asking if anyone would object to Anthro and Embra’s marriage. Much to everyone’s surprise, a young woman from the Bear Tribe objects!
 
Nima of the Bear Tribe objects, as is her right. Anthro is wearing her charm too; a charm that she game to Anthro as a good luck charm to help him find Embra. When Nima refuses to back down, the ribe law requires Embra and Nima to fight over Anthro. The two fight, and both Embra and Nima seem equally skilled. In the end, the fight ends a stalemate, with both women being knocked out after a hard fall. As per tribe law, Anthro m
